HA!

Betcha thought I had disappeared from the face of the deviantart earth, huh? Well guess what, I'm back! I've managed to tear myself away from the black hole that is gaia online for a minute to bring you updates of my life....

Gaia Online:

Okay, let's start with the main reason why I'm not on dA as much as I was before. Gaia Online has taken over my body like a virus and, unfortunately, now occupies over 90% of the time I spend online. I've found myself DEEPLY engrossed with Gaia's unfolding plot line and everytime some new storyline update occurs, I must find a thread on a forum to chime in with my two cents' worth about the situation. Annoying? Yes. I know. I'm also questing for an item called a "lunar cloak." It's made of pure awesome, and I'm about halfway there to finally getting it. ^o^

School:

As of June 21st 2007, I became a high school graduate! Yay! My mom, dad, and two aunts and two uncles came to the ceremony to watch me graduate and receive my diploma. I was decked out with my purple orchid lei, candy lei, 4-year spanish sash and lucky silver wishbone necklace. My gown was white with a blue stole that had "Class of 2007" written on it. All the girls wore white gowns with blue stoles, and the boys wore blue gowns with white stoles. I was very happy with my outfit, except my frizzy hair. Damn humidity.

Grad Night:

Overall, I was satisfied with my Grad night experience. I went on some fun rides, ate some tasty snacks, bought a lot of cool stuff, and had a ton of fun on the bus ride there. Kyle and Sean were especially amusing to chat with. I was so sugar-high and hyper waiting for the buses to leave. But the night got a little bit disappointing after I got to Disneyland... I split off the rest of my friends that came with me to D-land (Brenna, Kyle, Sean, Eydie, Doug, Aaron, and Katherine) to go get in line for the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, the main reason I wanted to go to Grad Night. But I get to the entrance of the ride in tommorrowland and I find out that it was closed.

Words could not describe the devastation I felt.

So...I went on Thunder Mountain Railroad to try to forget how depressed I was... It was fun. But not as much fun as it would've been had I been riding it with some of my friends that came with me... I wish I could've met up with them again sometime during the night...we could've went on Pirates of the Caribbean together as group, it would've been awesome.

But no.

I just had to get to the Finding Nemo ride first.

And it wasn't even open.

Art:

Well, now that school is over, my art teacher gave us all back our art projects from over the past year. So I got back my final version of my 8x10 dragon painting. I'll be submitting it to dA later today so you too, can enjoy my painting, it all its glory crappiness. XP

In closing:

I don't want to overwhelm you all with boring, unnecessary details of my life all at once, so I'll save that for my next journal. Then I'll share with you my current college experiences, trip to Anime Expo, and when I got my instruction permit.

My Dad is getting me a 30GB Video iPod for Christmas. ^_^ It's being shipped out to me as I type. I'm also getting a JBL On Stage Micro, which a type of external speaker for my iPod.

I got my sketchbook back from my friend's house, and I've been working on finishing the coloring of my drawing I mentoined last journal. I'll post it either tomorrow or next week, while I'm still on Winter Break.

My subscription expired!!! TT3TT Now I have to buy one again! But, there is the holiday card project going on, so I'll participate in that and I'll get one month for free! Whee!

Anyways, I have not been deviant as much as I used to be... Another site has taking over my time and soul. GAIAONLINE RULEZZ!! I love it, I spent almost my whole thanksgiving break on that website, it's EXTREMELY addicting... O_O

I've been working on a painting for my art class, it has a dragon in it (what a suprise) and I've posted my rough draft drawing! See? I told you guys I'd post some dragon-related artwork before my contest ended...

Speaking of dragons, I've been working on a colored pencil dragon, but I took my sketchbook to my friend's house to work on it during the little party that was going on, and then I accidentally left it there! Oops! And since they live somewhat far away, I'll just have to wait until the next time I see them to get it back... heh heh... So...yeah...

My birthday was November 24th, and I got a buttload of giftcards. FOUR giftcards for Hot topic equaling 65 dollars! ^o^ And then two cards for Target, one Old Navy, one for Jamba Juice, Border's, and lots of cold, hard cash too! And then my dad and I went bowling the next day. ^_^

Well, I got tagged by Bio-hazard Bunny to list 6 Wierd/Things Habits about me...so, here it goez...

1. If a toilet seat has a lid on it, I ALWAYS close it after I use the bathroom, ALWAYS. I consider it a gesture of ettiquete.

2. I love Anthony Kiedis, the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, I consider him my hero. X3

3. My mom and I had the sex talk when I was in fifth grade....while we were driving... Yeah, it was akward.

4. My favorite fruit is the avocado, YES IT'S A FRUIT. And I like to it eat it along with tomatoes, I think they make great complements.

5. I love to walk around Target stores, even if I'm not buying anything, I just like walking around in them. Same goes for Best Buy stores. I don't know why, but everytime I go into one of those two stores, I feel like running around like a hyper 8-year-old. X3

6. Sometimes if I'm sitting down listening to someone talk or give a lecture, I sometimes find myself playing with the zippers of my jacket or edges of the pants pockets. I don't know why, I just like the feeling of fabric between my fingers. ^^

I'm finally doing something about my poll I put up! I asked how likely you'd be to participate if I hosted a contest, and I listened! The people have spoken!

Yep, I'm having a contest!

The theme is: Dragons!

What kind of dragons, do you ask? Anything really! Chibi dragons, Asian dragons, European dragons, evil or good! Purebreeds or dragon anthros! Sleeping, eating, fighting, singing, crying, anything! Anything and anything dragon related! The only exceptions are wyverns, gargoyles, and sea serpents (leviathans).

Absolutely NOTHING: excessively violent and gory, devil worshipping, racist and hateful, or pornographic.

Some blood is alright, such as a dragon finishing a meal, licking the blood of his prey off his claws. But don't have him ripping the head off some random dude....I don't need to see that while I'm eating my morning bowl of Froot Loops at the computer desk...

I'll be judging the entries based on originality, color, and overall cleanliness, 'cuz I like clean lineart. Sketchiness to a certain degree is okay, but not when there are lines going all over the place! >_<

(Psst... my birthday's on November 24th, if your picture is birthday-themed, that'll earn you extra points! X3)

For now, I'll put the deadline at: Dec. 24th, 2006
It could change, if some of you need more time or are really busy.

The prizes are:
First Place: a drawing by me, inked and colored! It will be a dragon, of course...
Second Place: a sketch by me. Again...a dragon...

I know, the prizes are'nt all that mind-blowing, but I promise you, I'll post more examples of the kind of work I can do as the contest progresses. I know that so far the only examples of my dragon art are my Art Folder Cover Design [link] and Beowulf dragon [link] , but I'll do a really good job on it!

I got bad news today from my classmates and fellow senior students...

One of my favorite teachers, my English 12 teacher, resigned from her job over the weekend. They didn't say specifically why, they only said it was because of "family issues beyond her control." Our class will be getting a new teacher sometime this week, and she will pick up where we left off with our other teacher.

*sigh* She was so cool!! I LOVED being in English class! Not just because I was with other seniors, but because of her! Her enthusiasm! Her energy! Her postive attitude.... *is depressed* Next to my Economics and Art teachers, she was the best...

We're in transition now, basically, we're doing nothing...except watching videos and doing busy work with our substitute teacher. I wouldn't mind having him (the sub) stick around, but he said he wasn't fully accredited to be a full-fledged teacher yet.

*sigh* And I didn't even get to say good-bye to her...

WAAH!! I feel so crappy, i'm on Gaia online, right? And I send a friend request to someone I've met here on dA. So I send them a message, and I think it was nice and friendly enough... I explain to them I've seen them on dA and I really liked their work, and I told them I sent them a friend request too.

But a couple minutes later, I get a message telling me that my request was rejected! Wah! What did I do wrong? Where did I go wrong? Was I not friendly enough? I was so shocked...and so sad at the same. Were they mad at me? Were they in a bad mood? Or did they reject my request before they read my message? Or were they so stuffed with friends that couldn't accept another one?

*sigh* I wish I knew the real reason... Oh well, I'll get over it..........

Greetings,

I have a daily planner issued to me by the school, and I use it everyday. Everyone in my school gets one in their registration packet, but only about half of the school uses them. I'm grateful for my planner, and I like the little weekly quotes they have at the top of each page spread. I've written down my favorites in the back; I've even used a quote I found from my planner to put under my photo in the yearbook.

One of the quotes that really made me think was this one, a quote about gratitude:

"I grumbled because I had no shoes on my feet until farther down the street I met a man who had no feet." An Indian Proverb

So, you people out there that complain that you don't have an iPod to listen to, it could be worse, you could be deaf and not be able to listen to anything at all.

Be grateful for what you own, don't take anything for granted.
